The "K-Trio", which included Mary Kasprzyk Tokarski, Julie Kasprzyk Cardona, and Walter Kasprzyk, began performing together in 1996, after a hiatus of over 25 years. Each of the members is an accordion champion in his/her own right. Julie represented the United States in the Coupe Mondiale in Holland (1967), England (1968), and New York City (1969). Mary represented the United States in the Coupe Mondiale in Belgium (1971) and France (1973). Walter captured the Connecticut State Championship Title in 1966, 1077 and 1968, and went on to be a contender for the Unite States championship many times thereafter. As a duet team, Mary and Julie held the American Accordionists' Association Duet Championship in the United States for over 12 years without being defeated. As soloists, as a duet team, and as a trio, they have performed both classical and contemporary music in concerts and performances all over the United States and in Europe, and have cumulatively earned over 450 trophies and awards during their competitive years.
